1. Nobody's perfect and that’s normal. Stop trying to prove your worth by doing or being the person that everyone wants you to be. Don't compare yourself to others, they have flaws and make mistakes too. Embrace your imperfections.
2. We are social being and social support is very important. Surround yourself with supportive and loving friends and family who not only lifts you up when you’re down, but also acknowledges your strengths and celebrates your accomplishments.
3. Ask for help. Allow other people to help you carry the load during a hard time. Remember that friends and family actually like to help out if you'll ask so allow yourself to receive care and support from them.
4. Slow down if needed. Saying "no" if you have to many things on your plate already. Prioritize your well-being and slowing down allows you to turn inward and listen to what your body, heart, and mind are telling you.
5. Be kind to yourself. Give yourself the love and respect that you would give your best friend, because you are your best friend. Take care of yourself by eating healthy and getting enough sleep. Practice positive self talk, positive affirmations will help to boost self-confidence.
6. Focus on your successes but learn from your failures. Each person has the tendency to remember the negative events in their life before they remember the positive. Write down your goal and slowly work on the list.
7. Live Gratefully and with positive attitude. A grateful heart brings a joyful spirit. Everyday, list down 3 things that you are grateful about. Everyday is always a new opportunity to accomplish your goal and to experience life so be grateful.
Self-compassion doesn’t need to be complicated but it doesn’t mean it’s easy either. It may feel very strange or awkward at first, but don't allow that to stop you from praising yourself for a job well done or even just for trying. Remember that you deserve loving-kindness just as everyone else does.
Loving yourself is more than just a state of mind—it’s also a series of actions and habits that you embed into your everyday life. Be happy and don't forget to smile.
